British Airways’ 20 resolutions for 2020

British-airways-cheap-ticketsBritish Airways is now looking to 2020 after celebrating its significant centenary year in 2019, with 20 New Year plans that are as thrilling as the successes of 2019.

 

  1. New Destinations: The carrier has already confirmed nine new routes for 2020, including Kosovo’s and Montenegrin’s capital cities Pristina and Podgorica, Italy‘s Perugia, Turkey‘s Antalya, Dalaman and Bodrum, Spain‘s San Sebastian, Greece‘s Rhodes, and Oregon’s Portland, promising even more new customer destinations.
  2. New Aircraft:In 2020, the carrier is expected to take delivery of more than 20 new aircraft, including 787-10s and A350s, which are up to 40% more fuel-efficient than the aircraft they replace.
  3. Club Suite: More aircraft will operate with the new business class seat of the airline, Club Suite, which provides privacy for all passengers via a suite door, 40 percent more storage space and 1-2-1 configuration.
  4. Caring for the environment: It will cover all domestic flights from January, with travellers going further afield being able to offset their individual emissions. During the year, the airline will make more sustainability announcements.
  5. First: Customers can expect to see more aircraft fitted with the airline’s newest First seat, currently available on its 787-9 aircraft.
  6. World traveller comfort: To addition to the improvements made to 2019, there will be new bedding for passengers travelling in the economy cabin of the airline.
  7. New uniforms: New uniforms for a new decade will be announced, designed by Savile Row tailoring specialist Ozwald Boateng OBE.
  8. Food for thought: Through new partnerships with gourmet caterers Do&Co at Heathrow and Newrest at Gatwick, it is introducing new menus across its network.
  9. Lounge luxury: The airline’s Heathrow, Edinburgh and Berlin lounges will be refreshed to ensure that customers are comfortable in front of their flights. There will also be a re-design and re-launch of the Elemis Spa at JFK.
  10. Connectivity: The majority of eligible aircraft will be WiFi ready by the end of 2020.
  11. Expect a freshly re-designed experience of ‘ Manage My Booking ‘ allowing consumers to connect more intuitively to details and services.
  12. Customers using the BA app will benefit from a slicker interface and additional features that enhance the experience when they make and manage their reservations.
  13. Robots: To help customers travel through the airport, BA is trialling new autonomous robots at Heathrow.
  14. The tech experts of the airline will continue their test of printing non-essential parts of aircraft such as tray tables to ensure that flights will depart on time and without out – of-service seats.
  15. While flying via Los Angeles, New York JFK, London Heathrow, Delhi, Los Angeles and Mumbai, BA Premier Card and Gold Guest List executive club members will be looked after by new Concorde teams.
  16. Thousands of BA airport hosts worldwide will receive additional training to provide a service that goes above and beyond expectations.
  17. The airline has committed to ongoing changes to the Executive Club throughout the year with new partners and exciting offers
  18. It celebrates the 10-year anniversary of Flying Start charity.
  19. Since summer on, it will be the first UK airline to offer prospective aviators paid summer internships.
  20. Customers will have the choice on long-haul flights to watch the 2019 documentary.
